This is a world premiere of Townsend's 2011 piano reduction of this composition. The original work was written in 1994 as a triple violin concerto with string orchestra.

The text of this work is by American poet Robert Frost. The third movement, entitled "October," is not being performed in this concert. This work was composed in 1997.
